About the Artist, Joyce Ann Mudd

Joyce discovered her gift just ten years ago. Her dedication to the female figure is a reflection of her struggle to deal with her body; the years of trying to change it and finally acceptance of what is including the scars from the struggle. She credits her sculpture and the response to her work with enhancing her effort to overcome self-hatred.

Her women have been juried into several art shows including the Newport Beach Art Show and the Annual Merv Griffin Palm Springs Art Show. Galleries in California offer her work. Her reproductions are carried in the Gift Shop of the The Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C, in clothing stores and in hair salons. She enjoys commissions requested by women of themselves or by their loved ones. Images of her sculpture can be seen in the documentary "The Size of It."

Joyce is grateful for her gift and the pleasure and healing it brings her and others.
